What we do
The Butterfly Movement is committed to transformation through Soul , Seed, and Soil!
We believe there are three key ingredients that make up the recipe to reactivate Black women and girls as they discover their earth purpose.
Our SOUL work cultivates personal and professional leadership skills, though our camps, circle trainings and experiential workshops retreats that contain culturally enriched exercises tools and activities designed to activate a deeper connection to self and our earth works purpose. ,
Our SEED work, incubates and inoculates women with specially designed programs to help seasoned businesses and young startups innovate and grow. We provide workspaces,technical support, mentorship, education and access to investors for startups or sole entrepreneurs in food, art , healing and land based businesses or earth purpose.
Our SOIL work is the distribution of “fertilizer” or funds to support the soul and seed work.
Each part of the Movement is unique to the identities of each Butterfly. Within each bucket we have many offerings including but not limited; small business advising, training under the Butterfly university, global community building and much more.

Why?
The process of identity construction is a daunting life task for all human beings, but for women and girls of color, their identity construction is further complicated by having to integrate who they are as both females and minorities in a society in which both racial and gender stereotypes persist. Compounded with issues of cultural displacement and lack of a stable support system, some minority women and girls not only struggle with defining themselves, but also lack basic survival skills that can further thwart the normal and healthy development of a productive and secure self identity and connection to the earth.
